Resident River Parking Permit

Residents can begin registering for the FREE Resident River Parking Permit on April 1st. 

Effective April 1st, 2025, all Resident River Parking Permits are digital instead of stickers.

Your license plate will be your permit.

Resident River Parking Permit Eligibility & Rules

Apply for your Resident River Parking Permit to park for free at most of the City's river access parks. To be eligible, you must be a New Braunfels resident. Check your address using the City’s General Reference Map).

Resident Permits are only issued to those who live inside the incorporated area of the New Braunfels city limits. While your mailing address might say New Braunfels, your residence may not actually be within New Braunfels city limits. The City uses the General Reference Map to determine if your address is within New Braunfels city limits.

Permits are valid from April 1st through March 31st of the following calendar year.

 

The Resident River Parking Permit is valid for free parking in all designated river access parking areas except for Prince Solms Park as depicted in the river access parking map.​ Click here to view MAP 'N PARK™ locations.

 

The Resident River Parking Pass does not provide free parking at Prince Solms Park where the parking fee is $20 during the summer season, which runs from May 1st to Labor Day. 

🎟️ Looking for River Passes? Visit the City of New Braunfels website to apply. (Passes/wristbands are not available through this site.)

Application Requirements

You must submit the following information via our online application process.

  • Contact Information: Name, Email, Phone Number, and Address

  • Vehicle Information: License Plate Number, State, Make, Model, Color

  • Proof of Residency - one of the following:

    • Valid driver’s license or

    • Current NBU statement with photo ID or

    • Other current utility statement with photo ID or

    • Rental contract with photo ID

  • and Valid Proof of Insurance

 

NOTE:

  • Your request will not be processed without both required documents uploaded.

  • To register multiple vehicles, you will need to submit an separate application for each vehicle with the required documentation.

Regardless of when you previously registered for a Resident River Parking Pass, all passes must now be issued through the online portal.​

 

APPROVALS:

  1. Once you submit your registration request, approval of the permit will take approximately 1-3 business days.

  2. After you receive a confirmation email, you are eligible to park for free, and no additional steps are necessary upon arrival at the river parks. Your license plate is your permit. Just park... and go!
